Tabatha got back into horses in her 20's and from there she started lessons in dressage and saved up to buy her first horse. Suffering a huge riding accident at 30 she realized that life had sent her into a new direction with horses. Flipping gears she started her horsemanship journey and into obstacle work, desensitizing horses and building their confidence became a passion for her . You can now find Tabatha sitting in a western saddle and always riding bitless, playing at liberty and coming up with new ways to strengthen her partnerships with her horses . After a successful career in the lower mainland Tabatha decided to switch gears again and she landed on the island 2019 where she introduced the island to obstacle work through her business New Foundation Natural Horsemanship Thanks to her influence you can find noodles, bridges and other crazy ideas all over the island in peoples back yards . Feeling that there was a need for a competition that focused on the horsemanship aspect she decided to start Cowboy challenge bc and that brings her where she is today.
Heather has always been a follower of natural horsemanship. Studying everything horse from the inside out most of her life. She has been working with Tabatha since 2019 and joined the Cowboy Challenge team in 2020 as one of our judges. Helping to set the path for which would become the standard practice of all future shows and competition

She has been working with Tabatha since 2019 and joined the Cowboy Challenge team in 2020 as one of our judges. Helping to set the path for which would become the standard practice of all future shows and competitions. Currently there is no qualifications in BC specific to this so learning and taking in as much as possible from all disciplines combined with her keen eye has set the bar for which horses and riders are judged. Putting horsemanship first, skill and technical secondary. Her commitment to the sport is unsurpassed. A true trailblazer extraordinaire . Heather is working on setting the groundwork for regulations on which all future judges will be qualified.

Tamara was first introduced to Natural Horsemanship and Tabatha in 2021 through her coach, as a way to help her challenging mare. When Cowboy Challenge BC started she was excited to be a part of something that celebrates the journey between horse and rider. It’s allowed a “safe space” of learning and growing for both her and her mare.

Tamara enjoys the competitions, so when the opportunity arose to join the team, she was happy to help and put her skills to work. With a long history of fundraising for various causes, it was fitting that she be the sponsorship coordinator and social media support. Using her skills to assist in growing Cowboy Challenge BC’s online presence. From building the website to putting us on TikTok.
